While most sectors of the economy have massively reduced emissions, transport emissions have remained almost unchanged for 30 years. To finally reduce transport emissions, we need to better understand the impact of decarbonization of transport, transit-oriented development, intensive densification in urban development, 15-minute neighbourhoods, etc. Integrated land use/transport models are a powerful method to investigate the impact of such policies.
On 24 September 2024 from 9:30 to 16:30, we will host a Symposium on "Integrated land use/transport models for carbon neutral strategies" at the Osaka University Nakamoshima Center in Japan. Participation is free of charge, but limited to 25 participants [...]

In partnership with 7th Sense Research, we are conducting research into the impact of non-driving related tasks on drivers’ situational awareness during transfers of control in autonomous vehicles at UCL PEARL<https://www.pearl.place/_files/ugd/5caae9_55d4dcc308fe4dea87795c861067ad13.pdf>.

The aim of this research is to understand how tasks such as using a handheld mobile device, writing an email, or listening to music can affect drivers' readiness to take back control from the vehicle. This knowledge will help improve the design and policy of future automated vehicle systems. [...]
